Dear Editor, September not only heralds the infamously lovely harvest moon which is to be October 1. September is also National Literacy month and Sept. 8 is International Literacy Day. But wait … there’s more! In 1981 the United Nations chose September to commemorate the International Day of Peace (IDOP). However, in 2002 the date Sept. 21 was declared as the permanent IDOP.
