Employees injured in fight at Sakura

KINGMAN – Three men were hurt, at least two of them seriously, during an employee fight at a Kingman restaurant Monday. Deputy police chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded at 12:30 p.m. to the Sakura Sushi and Grill at 3505 Stockton Hill Road. Cooper said the restaurant was still open for curbside pickup service while the dine-in option has been shut down due to the coronavirus scare. Cooper said detectives are investigating to learn more about the altercation among male co-workers. BOS Supervisor Bishop challenges challengers

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jean Bishop has gone to court in an effort to claim the August 4 republican primary election by bouncing two challengers from the ballot. Bishop filed separate, yet similar lawsuits in Superior Court last Thursday challenging the District 4 candidacies of Rick Armstrong and William Andrews. Bishop contends that both men failed to obtain the required minimum 51 valid signatures on nominating petitions to qualify their campaigns. KINGMAN – An 18-year prison term was imposed Friday, April 10, for one White Hills man who shot two others 14 months ago. Donald Dehar, 56, through a plea agreement, was convicted of attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault and misconduct involving weapons. Dehar’s case is being resolved after a delay due to his mental illness. He underwent psychiatric care to return him to competency for legal proceedings to continue. Dehar was calm throughout the sentencing hearing. He cursed and threatened Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle during hearings before he was restored to competency.
