Two kilos of cocaine seized after three-mile chase

arrested in handcuffs

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – Almost 4.5 pounds of cocaine were confiscated in Lake Havasu City on Aug. 21. Lake Havasu City Police Sgt. Kyle Ridgway said officers conducting a drug investigation attempted a traffic stop at 1:24 p.m. that resulted in a three-mile police pursuit that ended in the 1300 block of London Bridge Road.

“The driver entered the parking area at Mesquite Bay South, where detectives observed him throw two brick-shaped packages from the passenger-side window,” Ridgway said. He said the vehicle made a U-turn and attempted to flee but came to a stop after striking a detective patrol vehicle.

Ridgway said detectives identified the driver as Jeremy Bowers, 41, Lake Havasu City. They also recovered the packages with a white, powdery substance that field tested positive as cocaine.

“The total weight of the two packages was approximately two kilograms,” Ridgway said. “The estimated street value of the cocaine is $200,000.”

Bowers was jailed for a variety of felony offenses.
