County virus cases reach 54

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 17, 2020) – The Mohave County Health Department MCDPH-Nursing staff was notified early this evening of two positive COVID-19 cases, one each in the Kingman and Lake Havasu City service areas. Both individuals are in the 20-44 age range, in isolation and recovering at home. Our staff will soon be initiating the contact investigation; until the investigation is conducted, it is unknown at this time if the case may be travel-related, epidemiologically-linked to another confirmed case, or the result of community spread. Bowen sentenced in hit-and-run that left a man crippled

KINGMAN – A 5.5-year prison term was ordered Monday for a Fort Mohave woman who crippled a man in a hit-and-run drunk driving accident. Genevieve Bowen, 56, was sentenced by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. Bowen was convicted at trial of two aggravated assault counts, two driving under the influence of alcohol charges and for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious physical injury. Habitual criminal ordered to 10-year prison sentence

KINGMAN – A ten-year prison term was ordered Wednesday, April 15, for a Lake Havasu City man who has been convicted in five different criminal cases in the last nine years. Judge Billy Sipe imposed the harshest punishment possible under terms of the plea agreement entered for George Touchkov, 38. Touchkov’s latest law enforcement contact came during a traffic stop last November. Touchkov reportedly admitted involvement in the sale of methamphetamine and heroin when questioned by officers.
