City seeks volunteers for Desert Clean-Up

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., February 7, 2024 – The City of Bullhead City is seeking volunteers to join a desert clean-up event being organized through a joint effort by The City, Golden Vertex, Republic Services, Mohave County’s ERACE program, and the Bureau of Land Management. The clean-up is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Volunteers, along with staff from the participating organizations, will clean the side road banks along Silver Creek Road East of Bullhead Parkway, focusing on removing large items, such as tires, dumped furniture, electronics, and concrete. Another fire fatality in Golden Valley

GOLDEN VALLEY – Another fire fatality is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said foul play is not suspected in the death of Dana Lee Pollan, 67. Mortensen said deputies responded at about 11:22 pm on Sunday, Feb. 4 to the incident in the 4500 block of Smoketree Road in Golden Valley. They were greeted by firefighters who reportedly indicated that the fire had been contained to a bedroom within the residence. Mortensen said Pollan’s body was recovered from that bedroom.

Sometimes there are no easy answers as much as we would like to have them. When a family member or friend dies unexpectedly, we cannot help but want answers. We mourn in disbelief when we see random acts of violence perpetrated on the innocent among us and ask why such things happen. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Disc Golf Open Tournament was a hit this past weekend. Many spectators headed over to Sara Park to witness several divisions compete in the ever-growing sport.   The Lake Havasu City Open was a two-day event that began on Saturday, February 3 ending on Sunday, February 4 at the permanent disc golf course located just past Sara Park’s dog park.
