Pedestrian killed by train

KINGMAN – A deadly train-pedestrian fatality incident is under investigation in Kingman. Deputy police chief Joel Freed said officers responded about 9:10 p.m. on Friday, March 22 to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad train tracks near East Andy Devine and Fairgrounds Boulevard.

Freed said a subject dead at the scene was identified as Yolman Ruiz Salvatierra, 21, South Gate, California. “Investigators found trauma consistent with being struck by a train,” Freed said.

Freed said it is unclear why Salvatierra came to be in the area and how he was struck and fatally injured.
