MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. – Entrepreneurs, inventors, innovators, existing business owners looking to grow, and aspiring entrepreneurs from throughout the region are invited to participate in the Moonshot Rural Arizona Pitch Competition.
Whether you have an established business ready to grow or an idea you’ve been thinking about for years, the Rural Arizona Pitch Competition is designed to help you take the next step. Participants receive coaching from experienced business professionals before presenting their ideas in a supportive Shark Tank-style competition with much nicer judges! Along the way, competitors can win local cash prizes, connect with mentors and investors, gain valuable business resources, and continue developing their businesses through Moonshot’s ongoing entrepreneurial support network.
Competitors will have the opportunity to earn first, second, and third-place honors in either Kingman or Bullhead City. The first-place winner in each city will advance to the Statewide Rural Arizona Pitch Competition, where they will compete for the state title, a $10,000 grand prize, and additional cash prize opportunities.
Economic development doesn’t just happen when a large employer chooses to locate in a community, it begins with an idea. Every successful business grows from that spark, and today’s entrepreneurs become tomorrow’s employers creating jobs, diversifying the economy, and strengthening our community. Through the Moonshot Rural Arizona Pitch Competition, participants have the opportunity to transform ideas into successful businesses through mentorship, coaching, and networking.
“Some of tomorrow’s most successful businesses are sitting in someone’s notebook today,” said Bennett Bratley, Economic Development Director for the City of Kingman. “The Rural Arizona Pitch Competition gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop those ideas through mentorship and real-world feedback while showcasing what’s possible right here in Kingman. Supporting entrepreneurship is an investment in our community because today’s innovators become tomorrow’s employers.”
Participation is free, but registration is required. Space is limited, and applications will be accepted until all available competition spots are filled. Whether you’re launching a new venture or growing an existing business through an innovative new product, service, or expansion, residents are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
In Bullhead City the event will be held on Wednesday, September 2 at the Bullhead City Optimum Community Center.
In Kingman the event will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at the Powerhouse Visitor Center, located at 120 West Andy Devine Avenue.
