MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave Community College Foundation has made it their responsibility to advocate and strengthen the advancements of their students through programs that will be beneficial for their academic studies. The foundation will be welcoming back their Around the World Series with their theme being Inspiration Around the World.   The foundation hopes to ease the financial challenges that MCC students could face while completing their education. The influence for the Inspiration Around the World theme came from former MCC student, Christian Michael Sweeney.  Sweeney graduated from both Lake Havasu High School and MCC in 2013. The remarkable young man then went on…

KINGMAN – Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter is holding a donation drive at High Desert Hyundai, 4180 Stockton Hill Rd, from February 14 –through March 6. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cupboards are bare at the Mohave County Animal Shelter and they need community support to help stock up. They have seen strays and surrenders at unprecedented numbers. Because of the high intake they are going through their food faster than usual. BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Police report a transient was lying in the roadway at Highway 95 and Thunderstruck when he was fatally injured by a passing vehicle. Officers responded to the incident at about 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the 29-year-old driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic was unable to avoid striking Anthony Lockwood. She said Lockwood died of his injuries following transport to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.
