KSS Taco Bell wins first tourney of the season

KSS Taco Bell, a Kingman-based traveling senior softball team, won its first tournament of the year at Rotary Park in Bullhead City over the weekend. The Kingman Senior Softball (KSS) squad won all five games to claim the 60 AAA division at the annual Top Gun Winter Classic. KSS opened with an 18-16 defeat of the Jokers from California, followed by a 14-13 win over the Boys of Summerlin from Nevada on Friday. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Explore unique craftsmanship of beautifully handmade quilts at this year’s Bridge of Freedom Quilt Show. The Havasu Stitchers club was formed in 1992 with only 31 members. The group was formed for passionate quilt makers wanting to meet other like-minded individuals all in the name of patterns, textiles, and quilting techniques.  Back then, the club became a chapter affiliated with the  Arizona Quilters Guild in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, the group’s membership has expanded to 177 members. Previously, the nonprofit group has participated in annual occasions like Balloon Fest and Winter Fest.   The club is also continuously active in community outreach….

Early voting booths secured

MOHAVE COUNTY – In-person early voters will enjoy brand new voting booths when they mark their ballots in the upcoming Presidential Preference election in Mohave County. Recorder Lydia Durst said 16 of the booths have been purchased from some $32,000 in Help America Vote Act grant funds made available to her office. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Everyone’s spirits will be uplifted at the Liberty Quartet’s concert this week. Formed in 1995, Liberty Quartet was founded by a local church in Boise, Idaho. It started out with choir director Royce Mitchell and three other choir members. By 1997, the quartet had a full time traveling tour. Today, the band continues to spread their faith and worship to audiences through music.  Each year, the band’s touring performances take place at prisons, churches, and nursing homes.  Eventually, Liberty Quartet broadened their concerts to Gospel Music Fan Festival in Canada, the Southwest Music Festival, and the Great Western Fan Festival. Lake…
