America will be destroyed unless we get out and vote

Dear Editor, As I write this, our beloved America is in the throes of a revolution. This revolution resembles almost none of the scenarios that have been seen in Hollywood’s blood and guts or political intrigue presentations. What we are facing is wholesale hatred being illustrated by people who hate this country for their own sick, perverted reasons. Do they hate the freedom of speech our constitution guarantees, and that permits them to spew the most heinous, vitriolic filth with complete immunity from retribution? Do they hate the support system taking care of the truly poor people who have to…

More than a touch of insanity, it appears

Dear Editor, A touch of insanity seems rife in the conservative ranks, or maybe it is just woeful lack of common sense. How else does one conclude the January 6 insurrection does not require a bipartisan commission tasked with investigating the assault on the Capitol? The majority of us saw the taped interviews of Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy condemning those involved as well as insinuating Donald Trump was at least partially, if not mostly to blame. UniSource Energy Services customers can support service reliability, use cleaner energy resources and possibly even save money this summer by conserving power between 3-7 p.m., the hours of greatest demand on our local energy grid. “We’re asking customers to help us beat the peak,” said Sam Rugel, UniSource’s Director of System Control & Reliability. “Energy resources are going to be tight this summer on the Western grid, so we’ll all be better off if we can reduce usage during hours when our system is under the greatest strain.” Supporting Reliable Service Because the electric grid operates in real time, UniSource…

Kingman Crossing plans to advance

KINGMAN – The Kingman Crossing Interstate 40 interchange project spearhead by Kingman Regional Medical Center was the subject of a report city manager Ron Foggin presented at the June 1 council meeting. Foggin said the hospital exercised its contractual right in its development agreement with city to place the project in a pandemic pause more than a year ago. Foggin said hospital officials understandably have had their hands full dealing with COVID-19 but that CEO Will MConnell is interested in advancing the interchange that will open development in the vicinity of KRMC’s Hualapai Mountain Campus. Foggin said McConnell is assessing…
