Kingman utility billing to resume normal processes

KINGMAN, Ariz. – As of June 2, 2021, the City of Kingman Utility Billing Department has resumed sending delinquent notices on past due bills, and will resume non-pay disconnects June 14.. Approximately 2700 notices were sent yesterday. Delinquent and non-payment disconnect fees are still being waived until July 1, 2021.

Multiple assistance agencies are available to assist customers who are unable to pay their utility bills:

The City of Kingman Utility Billing Department had suspended delinquent notices and fees over a year ago, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The city began disconnecting water service for non-payment on a routine basis beginning in mid-January 2021, for those customers who were not on a payment plan, were delinquent more than 50 days, and had a past due balance of more than $400. In January 2021, the city had 1,520 delinquent accounts with a total amount past due of $162,013; those statistics don’t include customers who were on payment plans with the city, or those who were receiving assistance from any of the above agencies. The city had paused service disconnections during the city’s cyberattack, which is still under investigation
