Homicide suspect apprehended in Bullhead City

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Bullhead City police report the arrest of homicide suspect Christopher Pratt just before midnight Friday, July 31. Pratt, 32, Bullhead City, was taken into custody when he exited a home in the 7800 block of Canadian Street in Mohave Valley.

Pratt was wanted for the July 18 shooting of Manuel Medrano, 43, Mohave Valley. Medrano was wounded in both legs by a single gunshot, according to police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt.

Medrano died of his injuries on July 22 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Fromelt said investigation determined that Pratt and Medrano had been in previous altercations.

Police Chief Paul George credited his team for tracking the suspect and bringing him into custody without incident.

“Our community is safer today because a violent and dangerous offender is off our streets,” Chief George said in a news release. “The victim’s family can sleep a little easier tonight knowing that the person responsible for taking their loved one’s life is being brought to justice.”
