Caroline Cervantes, of Kingman, died Friday, June 18, 2021. She was 82. Mrs. Cervantes was born Jan. 14, 1939 in Apache, Ariz. The family contact is her grandson Joseph Anthony Cervantes. A service will be held Thursday, June 24, at 10 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home with internment following at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.

Budget reform shot down

MOHAVE COUNTY -A proposal to reduce the primary property tax rate and replace the revenue with a quarter cent sales tax died at Monday’s Mohave County board of supervisors meeting in Kingman. It was District 5 Supervisor Ron Gould who fired the missile that torpedoed the tax reform. Gould told board members he despises property taxes and supports the notion of reducing them through a sales tax hike. KINGMAN – Kingman area residents historically have enthusiastically bull rushed a new business, particularly eateries, but they’ll have to wait until July to dine in the new Filiberto’s store next to Dutch Bros on Stockton Hill Road. City officials said a Certificate of Occupancy for the 2,400 sq. ft. building issued on May 20.
