Virlynn Tinnell receives 2021 Administration of Justice Award

KINGMAN – During the recent Judicial Conference the Arizona Supreme Court presented retired Mohave County Clerk of the Court, Virlynn Tinnell, with its 2021 Administration of Justice Award.  Virlynn served as the Clerk of the Superior Court from 1999 until her retirement in April 2021 when she was appointed as the Cerbat Justice of the Peace by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.     During her tenure as Clerk, Virlynn actively participated on several State-wide committees and served as a director with the National Association for Court Management.  Virlynn’ s efforts to help improve court operations include the implementation of…

CRUHSD receives five-year accreditation

BULLHEAD CITY – For the second time in five years, the Colorado River Union High School District has been awarded accreditation by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). The three regional agencies provide accreditation that is recognized throughout the world. Dear Editor, Until recently my wife and I paid over $2,000 a month for medical insurance. We each had a $6,000 deductible. One year we both had procedure’s which meant we had $12,000 in out of pocket expenses. There were also some other “uncovered” medical costs throughout the year which resulted in over $40,000 in medical insurance and out of pocket costs. The procedures themselves of course cost far and above what our out of pocket expenses were. BHC council continues support of area water safety

BULHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Council approved a contract amendment and extension last week that expands the city’s relationship with Water Rescue and Safety LLC (WRS) for public safety support along the Colorado River and community beaches. Police Chief Robert Trebes told the council that the partnership began in March, 2018 after a successful pilot program with another vendor, Contemporary Services Corporation. Trebes said city police boats made 191 waterway rescues and assists, 5 operating under the influence arrests, issued 133 citations and responded to 50 accidents in 2018 accidents.
