MCC, Kingman Chamber to partner in downtown facility

KINGMAN – Mohave Community College (MCC) and the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) are going to be roommates. They’re moving in together in downtown Kingman and will share space inside the former fitness facility at 309 E. Beale St. The college purchased and remodeled the 10,000 sq. ft. building for about $1.6 million. President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein said the college will transition two Small Business and Development Center employees and a community educator from its campus north of the city limits to the new MCC Beale St. Center downtown. Veterans Resource Fair June 25

BULLHEAD CITY – The JAVC and VFW District #8 are collaborating to bring a Veterans Resource Fair to Bullhead City on Friday June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a 9:00 a.m. registration time. The Fair will be held at the Suddenlink Community Center gymnasium, 2380 Suddenlink Way. The Bullhead City Transit stops at the Suddenlink Center at 22 minutes after the hour. Transportation requests are to be made through info@javc.org by Tuesday, June 22. They now have a shuttle available for pick-ups.  There are currently no COVID-19 restrictions at the Center but wearing a mask will not be discouraged….

NAFD Station 31 open house is Wednesday

KINGMAN – The Northern Arizona Fire District invites everyone to its June 16 open house for its new district headquarters, Fire Station 31. Staff and equipment have vacated the older Station 31 a couple of blocks away and relocated within the much larger and improved facility at 2600 Northern Ave. Governing Board Chairman Jim Bailey said firefighters won’t miss the former Station 31, an antiquated, rat infested facility with poor access. The District purchased the nearby 12,000 sq. ft. Fire Station 31 building for roughly $500,000 more than a decade ago and another $1.2-million in renovations put the station in service….
