Agricultural vehicle hauling a palm tree causes outage

BULLHEAD CITY – On Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m., 501 Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members in Golden Shores experienced an outage due to an agricultural vehicle hauling a cut palm tree. The outage occurred when the palm tree came into contact with MEC lines. Crews responded to repair the line, restoring power to all members at 12:32 p.m. The outage affected members in the southwestern territory of Golden Shores, Arizona. Outage restoration is very important to Mohave Electric Cooperative and every effort is made to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Dear Editor, Following what has become a Christmas tree lighting tradition at Locomotive Park, kicked off by Mayor Miles this past Saturday, Dec. 4, Christmas celebrations in downtown Kingman were lit up. The celebrations were followed by a Street of Lights, which replaced the longstanding Parade of Lights that Kingmanites have enjoyed for many years and the 2nd year running of the Mingle Jingle. Paul Joseph Samoska, 84, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2021 at his home in Kingman, AZ after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Sandee, his loving wife and soulmate of 61 years, and his dog, Bear, were at his side. Paul was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Samoska in Chicago, Ill. He lived near Marquette Park where he fished in the summer and went sledding in the winter. Paul’s family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1951. He attended Tucson High where he was a member of the Rifle Team.
