BULLHEAD CITY – The City of Bullhead City has closed its splash pad at Ken Fovargue Park. Consistent with Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order, the City desires to keep its parks open, yet the splash pad is not essential and consistent with CDC for physical distancing it is closed. The splash pad will be closed until Thursday, April 30 unless extended. Anyone with questions can call 928-763-9400.
KINGMAN, Ariz. – In following Governor Ducey’s Executive Order (2020-18) “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected,” the Governor has asked Arizonans to limit their time away from their residences, but if people need to leave their homes, they practice physical distancing (six-feet apart) to slow the spread of COVID-19. This Executive Order expires April 30, 2020, unless extended by the Governor. Additional restrictions are being imposed to promote public health and prevent spread of the coronavirus at the Mohave County courthouse in Kingman. Various social distancing and operations changes were previously implemented under an Administrative Order issued last month by Presiding Judge Charles Gurtler. Three of the four judges who hear criminal cases have now ramped up restrictions to the point that mostly only court personnel will appear in person for hearings. Grand Canyon, AZ– The National Park Service (NPS) received a letter today from the Health and Human Services Director and Chief Health Officer for Coconino County recommending the full closure of Grand Canyon National Park. KINGMAN- Effective today, April 2, Inmates in the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility will be able to make two ten-minute phone calls each week at no charge. The Sheriff’s Office is suspending video visitation from friends and relatives to curb the spread of COVID-19. Captain Don Bischoff said that in collaboration with its inmate telephone provider, ICSolutions, inmates who may have relied solely on video visits to stay in touch with friends and family will be able to continue to stay connected with those outside the facility.
