Domestic violence call ends in officer-involved shooting near Kingman

police lights

KINGMAN – The Bullhead City Police Department (BHCPD) is conducting an independent investigation of a deadly shooting involving Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies.

MCSO Public Information Officer Anita Mortensen said deputies responded at 9:25 a.m. Monday to a domestic violence incident reported in the 17000 block of E. Blue Willow Lane, about 30 miles east of Kingman.

“During the investigation, a 48-year-old female produced a firearm and an officer-involved shooting occurred involving two deputies,” said BHCPD Lieutenant Eddie Espinoza. “Deputies promptly initiated lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived, however the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The deputies have been placed on administrative leave while the incident is under review, standard protocol in officer-involved shooting incidents.
