Ray Turner, of Kingman, died October 17, 2020. He was 79. Mr. Turner was born Oct. 29, 1940. In February of 2007 the Kingman Police Department officially launched its volunteer program with the creation of KPD’s Volunteers In Policing, the VIPs. Ray Turner was one of the original seven volunteers and had the distinguished call sign of X-Ray-1. Ray worked tirelessly as a volunteer, described by one of his co-workers as “an awesome, dedicated guy”. When the VIPs started doing the 30-day impound hearings, Ray would be at the department before 0500 hours, prepared to handle the hearings. Ray had…

KINGMAN – A Golden Valley man snared in a multi-agency investigation focused on two Kingman-based Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO’s) has entered a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. John Holcomb, 57, is one of 24 defendants indicted in the Operation King Crimson investigation. Holcomb pleaded guilty Tuesday to one felony charge reduced to conspiracy to commit possession of dangerous drugs for sale. Three possession of dangerous drugs for sale, money laundering and illegally conducting an enterprise counts are dismissed in the plea bargain. Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing boyfriend

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City police say a local resident was arrested Monday for stabbing her boyfriend during an argument at their home in the 1800 block of Arena Drive. Officers responded at 8:00 p.m. and paramedics transported the 41-year-old victim to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said 43-year-old Jennifer Morris was arrested and jailed for attempted murder by domestic violence. “The couple reportedly had an argument and Morris attempted to stab the victim several times in the neck, but the victim was able to defend himself,” Fromelt said. Bullhead homeless students receive Thanksgiving food

BULLHEAD CITY / LAUGHLIN – Eight families of homeless Bullhead City Elementary School District students received Thanksgiving meals this week, courtesy of the annual “Feed A Family” charitable initiative of the Aquarius and Edgewater Casino Resorts.  Now in its ninth year, “Feed A Family” allows Aquarius and Edgewater guests to donate player points or cash.  Each $25 food box feeds a family of four and includes a seven-pound ham or 12-pound turkey along with potatoes, gravy, vegetables, rolls, cranberry sauce, pie and whipped cream.  The properties cover any shortages.
