The Vote Cheer: Covid Cowboy Comment

The ole’ Covid Cowboy caught my ear again. He done tol’e me he searched the holy list of lyrics and in the Woods behind Yasgur’s Farm, his two favorite Angels, Lo and Behold helped him re-discover that resounding cheer by Country Joe and the Fish which shall forever be ensconced in history. Here is what he sang to me: Gimme a V Gimme an O Gimme a T Gimme an E What’s that spell?? (Vote) What’s that Spell?? (vote) WHAT’S THAT SPELL?? Reader encourages everyone to vote

Dear Editor Going over the manifesto that is being proposed by the democratic party. I am amazed on how they are going to pay for this miracle plan that is supposed to build us back better. It seems that no matter how you look at it and no matter how you try to be fair, some of these plans are impossible to imagine. Most of them are just plain dumb and will put us right back to the Obama days.  Do we want to go back to the mandates and pay when we do our taxes if you don’t have…

LMRFD board needs more businesspersons

Dear Editor, Susan DeLara of Dolan Springs was voted onto the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department (LMRFD) Board, by the four existing members, at Friday’s meeting. She fills the position vacated by Larry Tennant’s resignation in June. She will complete Larry’s term through 2022. Susan aced the most grueling and lengthy interview by Chair Debora Cass of a prospective Board member that I have seen in my nearly 15 years of involvement with the LMRFD. Susan described plenty of experience serving on Boards. More impressively, though, her answers to Cass’s questions revealed her to be a reasonable, independent thinker, who…

Peace and Literacy

Dear Editor, September not only heralds the infamously lovely harvest moon which is to be October 1. September is also National Literacy month and Sept. 8 is International Literacy Day. But wait … there’s more! In 1981 the United Nations chose September to commemorate the International Day of Peace (IDOP). However, in 2002 the date Sept. 21 was declared as the permanent IDOP. Go online for background info on these three events. Note: Other events are honorably recognized as well in September; however, this article will be limited to the issues of peace and literacy. Ordinarily, in Kingman there is…
