KINGMAN, Ariz — Northern Arizona Fire District has announced that Fire Chief Brian Grant has successfully completed the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program through the National Fire Academy (NFA), part of the U.S. Fire Administration.
The EFO Program represents one of the highest levels of executive leadership education available to fire and emergency services professionals in the United States. The nationally recognized program focuses on strategic leadership, organizational development, public policy, research, and the complex challenges facing today’s fire and emergency services.
Chief Grant joins a national network of more than 4,600 fire and emergency services leaders who have completed the EFO Program since its inception in 1985.
“The Executive Fire Officer Program challenged me to look beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of being a fire chief and think more strategically about the future of our organization and the communities we serve,” said Chief Grant. “I am proud of this accomplishment, but more importantly, I look forward to putting what I have learned to work for Northern Arizona Fire District and the communities we serve.”
Completion of the EFO Program requires advanced executive-level coursework and a significant Capstone Applied Project addressing an organizational or community challenge through research, analysis, and evidence-based recommendations.
Chief Grant’s accomplishment adds to his professional credentials, which include a master’s degree in emergency management, a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Chief Fire Officer designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence, ISFSI Credentialed Training Officer, Fire Instructor III, and Fire Officer IV.
