State of the nation is alarming

Dear Editor, When my kids were little, I would get a kick out of watching them imitate each other. The oldest would start and the youngest, being five years younger, would follow. It was fun watching them help each other. Doing homework, I would hear the older one try and explain his homework to his brother and how to print the letters he was working on. One by one they worked on the alphabet together. When it came to cursive writing, it proved to be challenging for his younger brother but, together, they worked through it. Because of this “head…

Life is a puzzle

Dear Editor, Don’t give in that you cannot do any better. You can do better if you put your mind to doing better. If you give up, then you don’t have a chance. The only people who do better and go forward are those who try. Everyone has the freedom to try.  Think about what you would like for your life to look like. Get a clear picture in your mind. What would it take to achieve that life? Somethings are difficult to achieve but most situations can be made better. What will it take to make your life a…

Thunder-Rode secretly deemed ‘in appropriate’

Dear Editor, An article appeared in the Kingman Daily Miner Sunday, July 5, 2020 stating that the Kingman Farmers Market had moved to a dirt lot between the Art Hub and St. Vincent’s. Interesting that the reporter did not come down and interview Thunder-Rode where the market has been held for many years. What the article left out and what the good people of Kingman need to know is the sleazy, slimy, underhanded, low-life, disgusting way they did it, not just to the good residents of the city of Kingman who have enjoyed coming to the market at the Thunder-Rode…

I’m not made of money, people

It’s not bad enough that I’m living on a fixed income, all due to my medical problems. What really makes me boiling mad is being forced to pay on property tax and paying on utilities, etc. I’m not rich, I’m lucky to be able to hold my own without having people holding their hand out for more money. As a loyal taxpayer I strongly feel enough is enough, and when am I going to come out on top? Without a bunch of self-serving liberals wanting to bleed me dry. Wake up and smell the roses, plus take off your rose-colored…

Police officer lauded

Dear Editor, In a world that seems a little crazy and with so many negative comments, I wanted to take the time to share my appreciation for a Kingman Police Officer.  During my workday, I was required to involve the police in a situation. Officer Ashley Walker was the one we were fortunate enough to have show up. She understood special needs and treated the family with compassion and understanding. While remaining completely professional, she was able to provide the parent with encouragement and shared information that enabled the parent to feel at ease. I feel Ashley is an asset…
