Dear Editor,
I used to enjoy the news. Taking into account the week’s happenings, I’m really ashamed of all the negative press and commercials for both candidates. Where have all the good reporters gone? When did they decide to become liars and story tellers instead of telling the truth and inform the people of facts so we could make up our own minds about these candidates?
I can remember when being a reporter was an admirable thing. We looked to them to give us what we needed to make informed decisions. Now, I don’t believe anything they write or say or even want to watch their news programs. The way the press has politicized everything has caused distrust in us and has put a bad light on the newscast industry. Taking sides instead as being true to their trade and the American people. Making up lies and printing or omitting facts so we can’t believe in them.
Their creditable ability has been lost simply because they don’t like President Trump or Biden. What happened to your industry? The honest reporters? The freedom of the press that let the American people decide and not your opinions to try to persuade one side against the other?
Yes, I’m ashamed of what you’ve become. I no longer watch the news because it’s not trustworthy and is filled with lies and negative input. What a shame. I’m sure there are good reporters out there, but where? If only they would stand for the American people and not the status quo of who’s on the left or who’s on the right. Honest reporters. Yes, I used to enjoy the news.
