An honest job for an honest dollar

Dear Editor, A few months ago I called an Bankers Insulation to have more insulation blown into our attic as it had been 11 years since we had it done. After a problem with scheduling and figuring how much insulation we needed, they came out as scheduled and were very professional They blew insulation in the attic and we had a very clean job. Then we had or septic tank pumped out by Calvin’s Septic Service, and they showed up as scheduled. It had been six years since we had it pumped. They also were very professional and courteous. They…

Strategize your money flow

Dear Editor, If your outgo is more than your income then your upkeep will be your downfall.  A sure way to disable yourself financially is to spend more than your income.  If your income is $2500 a month then you can’t spend $3500 a month and come out ahead.  An old friend used to say, “You can’t borrow yourself rich.” We have “wants” and “needs.”  Needs must always outweigh wants. We need food and shelter, transportation and basic utilities to survive.  A person with a small income has severe financial pressure and must live on a strict budget. The person who…

Do you need Social Security?

Dear Editor, In 2020 over 64 million Americans were collecting Social Security.  The National Institute for Retirement Security (NIRS)has reported that Social Security is the only income source for 40 percent of retirees over the age of 60.” (Forbes.com) The study also claimed that only 6.8 percent of retirees receive income from the three-legged stool of Social Security, a defined benefit pension and a defined contribution plan.  Another study conducted by researchers at the Social Security Administration, found that only 19.6 of Americans 65 and over received at least 90% of their total incomes from Social Security. America will be destroyed unless we get out and vote

Dear Editor, As I write this, our beloved America is in the throes of a revolution. This revolution resembles almost none of the scenarios that have been seen in Hollywood’s blood and guts or political intrigue presentations. What we are facing is wholesale hatred being illustrated by people who hate this country for their own sick, perverted reasons. Do they hate the freedom of speech our constitution guarantees, and that permits them to spew the most heinous, vitriolic filth with complete immunity from retribution? Do they hate the support system taking care of the truly poor people who have to…
