Sandman sentenced to 3.5 years for drug sale

The last of three defendants charged in a Bullhead City drug bust has been sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections. The trio was charged following a February, 2018 search that netted seizure of methamphetamine inside and outside a home in the 1800 block of Granada Drive. Matthew Sandman, 41, pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of attempted sale of dangerous drugs for sale. Sandman explained his involvement during Thursday’s sentencing hearing in Kingman. Downed utility pole leaves residents without power

GOLDEN SHORES – A vehicle collision involving a utility pole left 1,681 Mohave Electric Cooperative members in the Golden Shores area without power for about three hours early Tuesday morning. VFW evacuated during vehicle fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Sunday fire prompted the precautionary evacuation of the VFW Hall and nearby businesses in Lake Havasu City. Fire department personnel responded at 3:20 p.m. to the incident in the 200 block of London Bridge Road. City Manager Jess Knudson said, in a news release, that the fire apparently started in the interior of a vehicle outside the buildings. Flames spread to another vehicle and were threatening the structures, so the buildings were cleared. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.
