Beginning July 1, 2019, a flat fee for recording documents in the State of Arizona will go into effect pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute §11-475, as amended by the Arizona State Legislature in 2018. The fee to record a document in the Mohave County Recorder’s office and throughout Arizona will become $30.00 per document. This eliminates the need to determine recording fees, which were previously based on and are now inclusive of:  How many pages the document contains, additional indexing categories, additional reference numbers on a document, mailing the recorded document back to the customer, the additional fee for the…

A funding commitment action at the June 4 Bullhead City council meeting should kick start a bridge project that’s been stalled for months. Progress on the second bridge proposed to cross the Colorado River to Laughlin came to a halt late last year when some Nevada officials indicated Arizona should pay more for the project. City manager Toby Cotter said Bullhead City and Laughlin are both handling the cost on each side of the river of connecting the transportation network to the bridge. Duarte gets two years for voyeurism

A judge in Kingman imposed a two year prison sentence last Wednesday, rejecting a request for probation by a Mohave Valley man who pleaded guilty to voyeurism for using his cell phone to take pictures up and underneath the dress of a female customer at Walmart last September. Defense attorney Nathan Best said his client, Ronald Duarte, 36, suffers mental health issues associated with the death of his fiancé, the mother of his children, in a traffic accident more than five years ago. “I’m a mess,” Duarte said at his sentencing hearing. “All I ask for is just a fighting…
