KINGMAN – On Friday, November 29, at about 6:15 a.m., Kingman Police arrested Alejandro Antonio Amaro, 30 of Kingman, on multiple drug-related charges Officers responded to the report of a man asleep behind the wheel of a white Chevrolet truck in the intersection of Andy Devine Ave. and Airway Ave., and arrived to find Amaro asleep. During the investigation Amaro was found to be in possession of over 16 grams of methamphetamine, a stolen firearm, and the associated drug paraphernalia. MOHAVE COUNTY – UniSource Energy Services is warning residents and business owners to protect themselves from suspicious phone calls, text messages, letters and visits in the light of ongoing attempts from scammers falsely claiming to work for the company. BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Women’s Council will host their annual Boombox Parade on Friday, Dec. 6 beginning at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is Spirit of Giving: Christmas Around the World. Boombox entries must be pre-registered and check in on Langford Dr. beginning at 3 p.m. Floats are required to check in by 5 p.m. All entries must have a boom box and tuned to 104.9 FM. KINGMAN – On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Scott and Emilie Preston of Preston Investments, presented a check for $5,000 to the Kingman Police Department (KPD) to be used for officer safety. The funds will be used for equipment and supplies that will enhance the safety of KPD officers. MOHAVE COUNTY – A meeting for the Mohave County Board of Supervisors was held on Dec 2. During the meeting three separate issues pertaining to safety and resident welfare were addressed. Amanda Kaufman of Kingman raised concerns about the safety of public roads during the inclement weather. Kaufman spoke about the recent difficulties of the Pine Lake community of the Hualapai Mountains. Kaufman mentioned years of snow and ice storms and drivers struggling to drive safely. No injuries in house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30 , a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 3000 block of Janet Drive. The occupants discovered fire in the garage and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported heavy fire in the garage area with the fire quickly turning into defensive fire conditions. Five engine companies, one truck company, two battalion chief’s, and a division chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 80 minutes. There were no reported injuries.
