Jail continues to take steps to keep inmates virus free

MOHAVE COUNTY –  Mohave County Adult Detention Facility has been preparing and responding to issues involving the COVID-19 virus and is working to keep jail inmates and staff safe. Captain Don Bischoff, said that he and his staff have been working with the Mohave County Department of Public Health as well as the jail medical staff from Wellpath, the health care provider contracted for inmate health services inside the jail. Man who stabbed roommate to death may not be competent to stand trial

KINGMAN – A plea agreement was stalled during a recent sentencing hearing when Judge Doug Camacho instead decided that the Bullhead City defendant should first undergo a full-blown mental health evaluation. Ethan Nelson, 29, had undergone an initial assessment but he will now get the more extensive evaluation under the Rule 11 provision that will determine if he is legally competent to stand trial. “Obviously your Honor, he is seriously mentally ill,” defense attorney George Hibbeler said during the March 18 hearing before Judge Doug Camacho in Kingman. Topock man charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon

TOPOCK – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jimmy Lloyd King Jr., 50 of Topock, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon per Domestic Violence and Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon, both felonies. On Tuesday, March 17, deputies responded to a residence in the 4500 block of E. Shooter found ‘guilty but insane’; ordered to state mental hospital

KINGMAN – A Kingman man whose gunfire and erratic behavior prompted a public safety scare last spring is being sent to the Arizona State Hospital for psychiatric treatment. That’s a requirement of a plea agreement that finds Larry Bradshaw, 37, “guilty except insane” to a disorderly conduct with a weapon charge.
