Sexual predator takes plea; five years in prison, 10 years on probation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A five-year prison term was ordered Monday for a Lake Havasu City man who was caught in an undercover investigation targeting adults seeking sex with underage girls. The punishment Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed for Dean Tarnow, 46, was stipulated in a plea agreement. The deal convicting Tarnow of a reduced charge of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and to luring a minor under the age of 15 for sexual exploitation requires Tarnow to serve ten year’s probation once released from prison. Latest county virus victim from Bullhead City

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Department of Public Health (MCDPH)-Nursing was notified this morning, April 8, of a positive COVID-19 case in the Bullhead City service area. The individual, is an adult in the 65 & older age range and is currently hospitalized. MCDPH nurses will begin the contact investigation as soon as possible. It has yet to be determined if the case is travel-related, epidemiologically-linked to another identified case, or the result of community spread. This fact is most often discovered during the investigative process. This new case brings to 24 the total positives cases in the county….

Alleged teen burglar busted

KINGMAN – A Kingman teenager faces multiple felony charges following his arrest Sunday night, April 5. Deputy police chief Rusty Cooper said officers responding to a suspicious subject report located Kaleb David, 19, hiding inside the fenced yard of a commercial auto repair shop in the 4200 block of N. Stockton Hill Road. Cooper said David was attempting to steal a wheel and a tire from a vehicle. He reportedly possessed more than eight grams of methamphetamine when taken into custody. Virtual notary services approved during pandemic

PHOENIX⁠ — In partnership with Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, Governor Doug Ducey today issued an Executive Order allowing Arizonans to get documents notarized remotely, while ensuring secure and effective verification processes. Currently, notaries and signers must  complete the notarization process in person. Allowing notarizations to be securely completed virtually will support the state’s COVID-19 “stay home, stay healthy, stay connected” guidelines while allowing the completion of deeds, loan approvals, business agreements and more.  This measure is consistent with Remote Online Notarization, a law passed that allows signers and notaries to meet virtually that takes effect July 1, 2020. Latest COVID-19 victim in Kingman area

There are now 23 positive COVID-19 cases in Mohave County. The latest is a Kingman service area individual, an adult in the 20-44 age range, who is currently isolated at home. The case is the result of “community spread.” Nurses will begin the contact investigation as soon as possible. As defined by the CDC, community spread means people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected.
