MOHAVE COUNTY – Due to possible COVID-19 health concerns, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) lobby and all substations will be closed to the public. This includes offices in Lake Havasu City, Mohave Valley, Colorado City, and Beaverdam/ Littlefield. MOHAVE COUNTY – Various Mohave County officials have authority to enforce restrictions that have been implemented now that at least three coronavirus cases are confirmed in northwest Arizona. Bullhead man charged in highway shooting

TOPOCK – Last Tuesday, March 17, deputies were dispatched to a weapons offense that occurred in the area of County Route 1. According to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the victim advised that she and a passenger were on their way home to Topock, when a black truck came speeding up behind them. The truck passed them on the roadway and she heard a popping sound. When the victim arrived home, she observed a bullet hole in her vehicle. MOHAVE COUNTY –  Mohave County Adult Detention Facility has been preparing and responding to issues involving the COVID-19 virus and is working to keep jail inmates and staff safe. Captain Don Bischoff, said that he and his staff have been working with the Mohave County Department of Public Health as well as the jail medical staff from Wellpath, the health care provider contracted for inmate health services inside the jail. Man who stabbed roommate to death may not be competent to stand trial

KINGMAN – A plea agreement was stalled during a recent sentencing hearing when Judge Doug Camacho instead decided that the Bullhead City defendant should first undergo a full-blown mental health evaluation. Ethan Nelson, 29, had undergone an initial assessment but he will now get the more extensive evaluation under the Rule 11 provision that will determine if he is legally competent to stand trial. “Obviously your Honor, he is seriously mentally ill,” defense attorney George Hibbeler said during the March 18 hearing before Judge Doug Camacho in Kingman.
