GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is trying to determine who is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality in Golden Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Deputies responded at 7:41 p.m. to a report of a male subject lying in the roadway at the corner of Chino Dr. and Adobe Rd. MCSO spokesman Anita Mortensen said James Douglas McDaniel, 69, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. KINGMAN – An Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) incident unfolded in Kingman on Friday, Dec. 29. Michael Guardado, 23, pleaded guilty Friday, Dec. 15 to aggravated assault and another charge reduced to attempted sexual conduct with a minor. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Leah Nelson said Guardado was 21 years old when he was involved in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl from Jan. to Aug. in 2022.
