DOC inmate completes suicide

The Arizona Department of Corrections reports the death of a Mohave County convict serving a life prison sentence for a first-degree murder in Bullhead City. The agency said that Sean King, 41, died Thursday, Jan. 4, from “an act of self-harm by hanging” at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Eyman in Florence. A news release indicated that prison staff performed initial life-saving efforts when King was discovered in an unresponsive state in his housing unit. “Responding paramedics in consultation with medical staff from Mountain Vista Medical Center pronounced King deceased,” the release said. King began serving time following his conviction for…

KINGMAN – Some 11.25 years in prison has been ordered for a Kingman man who denies engaging in sexual activity with an eight-year-old girl. Monte Anderson, 53, was sentenced Tuesday, Jan. 2 by Judge Billy Sipe. The punishment was stipulated in a plea agreement that was crafted and entered on Dec. 5, the day that Anderson’s trial was to begin at the Law and Justice Center. Anderson pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent exposure involving the victim but a sexual conduct with a minor charge was dismissed. Vaughan gets four life terms, plus 60 years for sex offenses

KINGMAN – Multiple sex offense convictions and tough Arizona sentencing law results in mammoth punishment for a Kingman man. Alexander Vaughan, 28, was given four consecutive life terms plus 60 more years in prison during a Jan. 2 sentencing hearing at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman. Judge Doug Camacho also ordered Vaughan to comply with convicted sex offender registration protocols. And Vaughan is prohibited from contacting two case victims.
