Hike rescued from remote area

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue personnel retrieved an injured hiker in extreme northern Arizona. Crews responded about 6:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 after learning that help was needed on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. A Search and Rescue Facebook post indicated that five friends were backpacking along the Kanab Creek when a 63-year-old male fell and injured his shoulder. The other four hikers left the injured man behind and used an Apple device and a satellite connection to summon help. A rescue specialist and a medic arrived aboard the DPS Western Air…

Bullhead Pest Abatement to Hold Caddisfly Community Forum 

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., September 18, 2023 – Bullhead City Pest Abatement will hold a caddisfly community forum on September 27, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Bullhead City Council Chambers located at 1255 Marina Blvd. Forum topics will include biology and ecology of net-spinning caddisflies, current nuisance caddisfly abatement strategies, and future pilot programs with a special focus on dock cleaning.              “The primary goal of the forum is to educate the public on nuisance net-spinning caddisfly biology and ecology and to provide updates on existing and future abatement strategies,” said Bullhead City Municipal Entomologist Dr. Michael Cavallaro. …

Lake Havasu City installs signage along downtown alleyway

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of some new signage that was recently installed along the easement of a downtown alleyway.
