Deadline to submit nominations is April 30 The Wildlife for Tomorrow Foundation is soliciting nominations for this year’s inductees into the Arizona Outdoor Hall of Fame. The Outdoor Hall of Fame annually recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant and lasting contributions toward Arizona’s wildlife, the welfare of its natural resources, and the state’s outdoor heritage. Some 100 turn out for courthouse groundbreaking

KINGMAN – A Monday afternoon groundbreaking ceremony celebrated a multi-million campaign to upgrade the Mohave County courthouse in downtown Kingman. The project involves a 66,000 sq. ft addition to provide additional space and the remodeling of the original historic courthouse that opened in 1915. About 100 people in attendance heard presiding Superior Court Judge Charles Gurtler thank many involved with the effort. Judge Gurtler also introduced a mix of dignitaries in the audience, ranging from staff members in Mohave County and Kingman city government to elected officials and judges. Through the rain and sunshine, over 540 participants walked for the cause! The 6TH Annual Connie Davis 5k Walk & Roll was held on Saturday, March 2nd at the Pyramid Canyon day use area of North Reach Heritage Trails. Despite the morning being met with a mild downpour, over 540 participants registered to support the cause! Shortly after the walk began, the sun came out from behind the clouds. MCC math success rates for students to be showcased at national convention

Mohave Community College has been so successful preparing students to succeed at math, that college representatives have been invited to a national conference to showcase how they did it. The Higher Learning Commission, H.L.C., National Conference is the first week of April in Chicago. H.L.C. invited MCC to explain the college’s new Transitional Math initiative that led to higher student success rates. H.L.C. is the accrediting agency for more than 1,000 colleges, including MCC. On March 14, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the promotion of John Goodwin to the rank of Sergeant. He has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, experience, and tenure to act as a supervisor and lead others. John Goodwin is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Goodwin started his career as a Detention Officer in June of 2004. In August 2005, Goodwin was selected to attend the law enforcement academy to become a deputy.
