Frozen beef patties recalled

AdvancePierre Foods, Inc., an Enid, Okla. establishment, is recalling approximately 20,373 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef patties that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically soft purple plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The frozen RTE flame broiled beef patties were produced on Nov. 30, 2018. The following products are subject to recall: 14.06-lb. cases containing three bags with 30 pieces for a total of 90 portions of “CN FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED” with case code 155-525-0 and package code 8334.  The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST….

Boy Scouts make donation to Search and Rescue

At the regular meeting for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Bullhead City Unit on Tuesday, April 2, the Boy Scouts of America Pack 56 made a presentation to the unit and thanked the searchers for their dedication. The pack raised money selling popcorn and made a donation of $183. This donation was greatly appreciated and will go towards purchasing gear and equipment used during search and rescue operations.

Odom apprehended after fleeing from police

A Modesto, California man who fired upon deputies Wednesday night in Dolan Springs was arrested Thursday afternoon, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the ordeal began at 7:45 p.m. as deputies tried to contact Wendell Wayne Odom, 36, about a burglary investigation.    Mortensen said Odom slammed a door and hid behind furniture to gain separation from deputies at a two story residence in the 13000 block of N. Barnes sentenced to probation and community service

A former Kingman resident, now living in Las Vegas, claims that sending improper email communication and a nude image of him to a 13-year-old girl three years ago was an accident.  Kirk Barnes, 53, has indicated that he was intoxicated and that an adult female had been his intended target.    “It was just a big mistake your Honor,” Kirk Barnes, 53, said at his Wednesday sentencing hearing. “This whole thing is the worst that’s ever happened to me.”    Barnes previously pleaded guilty to furnishing obscene material to a minor.    Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle said that the teenager apparently…
