JC Penney leaves empty retail space

KINGMAN – The Mesa company that manages the old Safeway shopping plaza along Stockton Hill Rd. in Kingman is looking for a new tenant following the recent closure of the JC Penney store. Property manager Brett Borg said he is also continuing to work to fill the space formerly occupied by Hastings. Meantime, construction is underway for a Bank of America ATM just north of the Safeway fuel station. Borg said an agreement to develop a Riliberto’s restaurant in the same parking lot fell apart. “The Mexican restaurant deal did happen for a lot of reasons,” Borg said. “It basically…

Legislative redistricting maps topic at KRW

KINGMAN – Steve Gaynor, President of Fair Maps Arizona (FMA) addressed the Republican Women regarding the IRC (Independent Redistricting Commission) on Monday, June 7, 2021 at their regular meeting. Gaynor advised the group that Arizona is only one of a few states that use an IRC to redraw its congressional and legislative district maps.  The lines are redrawn every 10 years based on data from the recently completed U.S. Census.
