Lawsuit Filed Against Frontier Communications over Internet Speed Misrepresentations

Company failed to deliver promised Internet speeds PHOENIX – Attorney General Mark Brnovich, along with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and a coalition of law enforcement agencies from five other states, filed a lawsuit against Frontier Communications (Frontier), alleging that the company did not provide many consumers with internet service at the speeds it promised and charged many for more expensive and higher-speed service than Frontier actually provided. The lawsuit alleges that Frontier advertised and sold internet service in several plans, or tiers, based on download speed. Powerline Fire Cause of Internet/Cell Phone Outage

KINGMAN – Due to an internet and cell outage, the Kingman City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 18, was canceled. Agenda items will be postponed to future meetings. At 4:22 p.m. on May 18, units from the Kingman Fire Department (KFD) and Northern Arizona Fire District (NAFD) were dispatched for a powerline down, followed by a call for a brushfire in the same area, and then upgraded to a commercial structure fire. The total response was four engines; two from each agency.  Once on scene on scene, advising of a tarp in the powerline with brushfire threatening a nearby business…

County libraries slowly coming back to life following COVID shutdown

KINGMAN – Patrons have responded slowly since Mohave County began ramping up service following last month’s directive by the board of supervisors to reopen public libraries. Once a month bookmobile service to outlying areas resumed Tuesday in Yucca followed by Wikieup on Thursday and Arizona strip communities on May 25 and 26. “We’ve got our libraries open for browsing,” Library Director Kathy Pennell reported during Monday’s board meeting. “We’ve got computers on the floor for public use.
