AZGFD biologists document first bald eagle nest in saguaro cactus

It has long been speculated that bald eagles could utilize saguaro cacti as nesting sites. Now the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has documented proof. During recent eagle survey flights conducted by the department, officials were delighted to discover a pair of bald eagles with eaglets nesting in the arms of a large saguaro near a central Arizona reservoir. According to  Kenneth “Tuk” Jacobson, AZGFD’s raptor management coordinator, biologists searched historical records in the 1970s for bald eagle nesting sites in Arizona. Manager Jess Knudson is happy to welcome Anthony Kozlowski to Lake Havasu.    “I am thrilled to have Mr.  Kozlowski join the Lake Havasu City team,” Knudson said. “He has the expertise and knowledge that allows him to hit the ground running and help the City achieve its immediate and long-term goals.”    Kozlowki’s duties include special projects, research and reports, legislative affairs and general administrative support for city operations. Husband charged with aggravated assault

LITTLEFIELD – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Anthony Charles Pope, 36 of Cedar City, UT, for two counts of felony Aggravated Assault per Domestic Violence and misdemeanor Failure to Comply with a Court Order. Bowen sentenced in hit-and-run that left a man crippled

KINGMAN – A 5.5-year prison term was ordered Monday for a Fort Mohave woman who crippled a man in a hit-and-run drunk driving accident. Genevieve Bowen, 56, was sentenced by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. Bowen was convicted at trial of two aggravated assault counts, two driving under the influence of alcohol charges and for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious physical injury.
