Hate never solves anything.

Some of the nicest people I’ve known have been police officers from county to state to city cops. I have some dear friends who wear badges and they are good people. The police officers who killed George Floyd on May 25th in Minneapolis at that moment and time were not good people. I would never say they haven’t been good people or have the potential to be good people but what they did that day was an act of hate and evil. There was nothing good about that scene of a defenseless man being choked to death. The police were…

Memorial Day event and Murphy’s Law

Dear Editor, The Kingman Marine Corps League wants to thank all who attended the memorial service that was held in the Veterans Park on Monday, May 25. Those who attended, masked and unmasked, were respectful of those around them. They did their best to spread out. I want to particularly thank the ladies from the Kingman Rotary who gave out masks for all who wanted one. The Kingman Young Marine Color Guard, VVA members Mike Beard who did the Pledge of Allegiance and Dave Stafford who handled our first ever streaming event, which is posted on the Kingman Marine Corps…

Prices going up on groceries, necessities

Dear Editor, As our community starts to reopen, I’ve observed how some are throwing caution to the wind. We still need to practice some social distancing and take precautions. I read recently that they have found one new case of the COVID-19 in Needles. The serious implications of how contagious this epidemic is could restart this whole situation again. Seeing several cars with different types of license plates here is scary. Most of those I saw were from California. Isn’t this state on lockdown because of the COVID-19? Although I am for re-opening our state, I’m curious as to why…

Be part of the solution, not the problem, with Covid-19

Dear Editor, America is now opening back up. People are starting to venture back to church. Places of work are reopening. Restaurants are reopening. State parks are reopening. The beaches are opening many places. Most Americans are breathing a sigh of relief. Americans are sick and tired of Covid-19. We’re tired of hearing about it and we’re tired of the repercussions from it. More Americans now are unemployed since The Great Depression. More unemployment claims have been filed than ever before. Many Americans have filed for unemployment weeks ago and still haven’t a penny of money. I continue to hear…
