Dear Editor,
Once again a letter writer raises my ire.
Hopefully this country is evolving, by looking back at a past where slave ownership was acceptable, and black individuals or women could not vote. In order to emphatically right these wrongs Constitutional Amendments 13, 15, and 19 were added. Today there seems to be a vocal segment of the population which is opposed to same sex marriage, transgender rights, and a woman’s right to reproductive choice.
To those individuals, I would ask how your life has been unfavorably impacted by the last three mentioned? For example, how has Ellen DeGeneres’ marriage impacted your life? And if you disagree with abortion, just how many discarded children have you adopted? I would probably bet you do not even know any transgender people. So why does it bother you so much that these people desire equality? How does it negatively impact your quality of life?
Now for the writer who claims to be a member of neither major political party, I must conclude, based upon the verbiage in your text, you lean toward conservatism. Think about your statement, “Right now your tax dollars are being spent for terrorism against American (sic) and Israel.” Trump, our current president must have approved these expenditures, don’t you think?
Question is, who are you going to support this election?
