Dear Editor, As we continue in our self-quarantine, my determination to get a green thumb, no matter what, has begun to wear thin. I have several cactus that have been in the front yard of our house for years. Although beautiful, they have been a real stickler (literally) for our precious baby dog, Diego. Dear Editor, Social distancing is tough for most of us. We love gathering in ballgames, movies, theatres, restaurants, churches and with family.  Seeing our neighbors and friends in the local grocery or chatting at the post office is a normalcy of life, was a normalcy of life. The new normal is shocking. Now we have to dodge people in the grocery store and be six feet apart in the post office all while wearing a mask. Dear Editor, We humans have been deluded into believing we are the apex of the mammalian line of beings. WRONG. Dear Editor, Some of capitalism’s flaws are beginning to emerge under the strain of the COVID-19 pandemic. Supply and demand is one of its primary cornerstones and has resulted in states fighting over PPE, masks, gowns and ventilators that are being sold to the highest bidder. Reports indicate the 3M Company is manufacturing masks and selling to countries offering cash payments.
