Capitalistic flaws apparent during crisis

Dear Editor, Some of capitalism’s flaws are beginning to emerge under the strain of the COVID-19 pandemic. Supply and demand is one of its primary cornerstones and has resulted in states fighting over PPE, masks, gowns and ventilators that are being sold to the highest bidder. Reports indicate the 3M Company is manufacturing masks and selling to countries offering cash payments. Easter morning reflections

Dear Editor, As the covid-19 pandemic continues to keep us in social distancing, I reflected on Easter morning and what it means to me. If you can, for a moment, look away from the constant…

A message from your Sheriff:

It is no secret that we are going through a very difficult time with the COVID-19 virus present in our County. Many things have changed over the past few months as non-essential businesses have temporarily closed under order of the Governor. In addition, protocols are in place to drastically reduce the spread of this virus through social distancing and personal health protection. As Sheriff, I have been asked many questions regarding this pandemic and what may occur if these measures remain in place for an extended time. It is my intent to answer these questions and hopefully calm any fears…
