Dear Editor, I am a 79 year old retired firefighter. I worked for L.A. County Fire Dept. for 31 years. I had numerous injuries throughout my career. Since late February, I hurt my left hip and now need a hip replacement, but in the meantime, old fire injuries surfaced: an MRI on my right shoulder and torn left knee. Dear Editor, This year with the help of our partners, MCC Small Business Development Center (SBDC) assisted more than 160 clients, created 69 new jobs and helped retain 30 existing jobs. We raised more than $5.9 million in new capital for new business startups and business expansions; assisting clients in starting 40 new businesses and helping to increase small business revenues by more than $1.7 million.
