Dear Editor, I realize this is conservative territory, but if my liberal (not communistic, there is a difference) slanted letters are causing those on the right to question policies on both sides of the aisle, then this fulfills my intention and should be viewed as a good thing. However, my greatest realization and concern for America is the fact that one person, back by millions, almost brought about the demise of our great democracy. Dear Editor, Life has been tough for us in the group homes, but I’m happy to say our prayers have been answered. We’re extremely excited that our quality of life is much better thanks to a few dedicated people. The woman who runs our group home in Golden Valley has always strived to make us residents as comfortable as possible. Dear Editor, When I went to school, I was not only taught to read. I also learned to comprehend what I read, which would lead to critical thinking. Comprehension: the action or capability of understanding something. Critical thinking: the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment. Dear Editor, “Howdy” was a common everyday word where I grew up. Raised on old Stidham, now known as Milo Road in rural Appalachia, I spent a lot of time at my Grandpa and Grandma Hinkle’s store. People came and went buying gasoline, sandwich meat, snacks, or groceries for the week. There were cane bottom chairs in the store and often people would sit and chat for a while.
