No injuries in apartment fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – No injuries are reported after Lake Havasu City Fire Department personnel rescued parties trapped by fire at an apartment complex. Crews responded to the May 13 incident in the 100 block of Mulberry Ave. at 2:03 p.m. “The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke and flames coming from a second story window and people trapped in a second story adjoining unit,” a news release said. “The trapped occupants on the second floor were rescued … and sustained no injury.” More than a dozen people are displaced by the incident and The American…

Disc golf tourney will fund elementary school athletic program

Border fire contained

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Bureau of Land Management reports 100% containment of a wildfire that scorched 77 acres in extreme north Mohave County, just south of the Utah border near Interstate 15. The Black Fire was first spotted at midmorning Wednesday, May 8. Four engines, one water tender and a Type 3 helicopter worked the incident. Machete-wielding man apprehended

BULLHEAD CITY – On May11 at around 5:55 p.m., police arrested Anthony Adams Spinharney, 42, at Rotary Park for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument and disorderly conduct with a dangerous instrument. It was reported that Spinharney (for unknown reasons) started recklessly waving a machete style knife near the skate park area, while walking toward people. Kingman bobcat captured, confirmed rabies

KINGMAN – Mohave County Department of Public Health was notified of an incident which involves a bobcat, a wild animal. The animal tested positive for rabies in the Aquarius Mountain area (east of Kingman, off I-40). The county’s Public Health Nurses are working with the humans exposed to the bobcat while Game and Fish and Animal Control are dealing with the animal exposed. The rabies virus causes severe damage to the central nervous system causing erratic behavior and death. Human exposures to rabid animals are usually rare and can be treated through prompt administration of anti-rabies vaccine and rabies immune globulin. If…
