National Police Week

KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department asks the community to assist in celebrating National Police Week. This year, National Police Week will take place from May 12 through the 18.  This week-long observance is an annual event dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the United States. In 1962, President John F. May is National Foster Care Awareness Month

Volunteer with CASA of Arizona  May is recognized as National Foster Care Awareness Month, and CASA of Arizona and the Foster Care Review Board (FCRB) are seeking volunteers statewide to advocate for children in foster care. These children deserve a voice, and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) and FCRB members serve as their voice in court. When a child or siblings can no longer safely stay in their homes they are removed and placed into foster care. Currently in Arizona, there are approximately 8,800 children in foster care. KINGMAN – Mohave County Master Gardeners will present a Saving Seeds (Tomatoes) workshop on Saturday, May 18 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mohave County Extension Office, 101 E.
