Vogt charged in weapons offense, endangerment

KINGMAN – Robert John Vogt Jr., 44 of Golden Valley, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies on Sunday, June 14 for his alleged role in a shooting. According to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, deputies responded to the area of Bank St. and Jagerson Ave. for a reported weapons offense, and were advised that Vogt had shot two rounds into his brother’s vehicle that he had collided with. KINGMAN – It took a half dozen tries, but a Lake Havasu City woman charged in the death of her toddler daughter has finally entered a plea agreement. Brittany Rodriquez, 27, pleaded guilty Wednesday (June 17) after balking at change of plea hearings conducted on March 19 and June 10. Judge Billy Sipe noted that no fewer than six change of plea hearings had been scheduled on Rodriquez’ behalf while her case has been pending. Rancho Santa Fe Interchange approved

KINGMAN – Mayor Jen Miles said Tuesday’s Kingman City Council approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) is a big step forward after years of planning and effort involved with the Rancho Santa Fe Interchange project. She said the IGA with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for phase one involves construction of the Interstate 40 interchange and short arterial extensions to the north and south. CHLORIDE – A significant drug seizure in the town of Chloride is reported following a routine traffic stop. A vehicle driven by Steven James Shaffer, 49, Pocatello, Idaho was pulled over at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Second Street on Tennessee Avenue. Mohave County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the vehicle was searched after Shaffer was arrested for a valid warrant. She said deputies confiscated 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine and seven ounces of heroin. Mortensen said a small amount of marijuana and a .40 caliber weapon were also seized inside the vehicle. GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday traffic fatality in Golden Valley. Deputies responded at noon to the single-vehicle collision on Estrella Road near McElmo Drive. COVID-19 update: 13 new cases, two deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Tuesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 13 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and two deaths. Ten of the cases are in the Bullhead City service area. One case is in the Lake Havasu City service area and two are in the North County service area. There are also two deaths. Both are previously reported cases. One is a 60-69 year age range person in the Lake Havasu City area and the other is 70-79 in the Kingman area.
