$4.1 million in meth seized

Largest seizure in DPS history LITTLEFIELD – The largest single methamphetamine seizure in the history of the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) occurred last Friday, Jan. 24, in north Mohave County. DPS said 362 pounds of meth was seized after a trooper pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 15 just south of Littlefield at 8:20 p.m. An agency news release said the street value of the confiscated drugs is $4.1 million. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department was recently awarded the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) 2020. Funds will be used the acquire new traffic enforcement equipment and to participate in the Arizona Department of Transportation’s (ADOT) TraCS program. The GOHS Grant awarded $8,064 to purchase speed enforcement equipment and digital speed sign traffic cloud software. Feliz acquitted in drug case; faces additional charges

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man was found not guilty late Thursday at the conclusion of his drug trial in Kingman. A Superior Court jury deliberated about two hours before acquitting Timmy Feliz, 47, at the Mohave County Courthouse. Feliz had been charged with possession of dangerous drugs. Prosecutor Kellen Marlow said an ounce of methamphetamine seized during a May 22, 2019 traffic stop belonged to Feliz. KINGMAN – Authorities say pounds of illegal drugs were scattered along Interstate 40 after a Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a black sedan two miles east of Kingman for an alleged lane violation Thursday, January 23. Bullhead City now a Second Amendment Sanctuary city

BULLHEAD CITY – A unanimous January 21 vote by the Bullhead City Council declares the Colorado River community a Second Amendment Sanctuary City. Passage of a resolution pledges commitment in support of gun rights and resistance to any attempt by the state or federal government to erode them in any way. The city of Needles in California passed a similar resolution last July while the Mohave County Board of Supervisors did the same last November. Maintenance worker arrested for burglary

MOHAVE VALLEY – A maintenance man has been arrested for stealing a large television set from a residential property to which he had access through his employment. An investigation began January 12 when Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to activation of a security system alarm at a residence in the 1000 block of Dike Road. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies learned that a 65″ TV had been stolen from the home. “Video surveillance from the residence was obtained and showed a male subject enter the residence and leave with the TV,” a news release said.
