Man killed on SR 68 in collision

A Kingman man was fatally injured when the Buick sedan he was operating pulled out in front of an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck on State Route 68 Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). Agency spokesman Bart Graves said John Gutierrez, 81, was dead at the scene of the crash. Officers responded at 11:06 a.m. and determined that the sedan was on Colorado Road and failed to stop before entering the westbound lanes of the highway. Jamison receives nine years with plea agreement

Probation violations and new criminal cases resolved through a single plea agreement result in a nine year prison term for a Bullhead City woman. Lisa Marie Jamison, 39, was sentenced Friday, May 24, by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. Jamison was placed on probation in December, 2015 after pleading guilty to four counts of child abuse by for endangering children who had access to four weapons and ammunition inside a Bullhead City apartment. Jamison was arrested on a failure to appear warrant when contacted in September, 2018. Police reportedly seized usable amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana, and some drug…

Lower energy costs lead to summer savings for UniSource Electric customers

UniSource Energy Services electric customers will enjoy summer bill savings that average more than $21 per month thanks to reduced natural gas and power prices. The Arizona Corporation Commission approved UniSource’s request to apply an energy cost credit of 1.85 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to its electric bills from June 1 to Sept. 30. Tourism to Lake Mead National Recreation Area creates $336 million in economic benefits

A new National Park Service report shows that 7.6 million visitors to Lake Mead National Recreation Area in 2018 spent an estimated $336 million in local gateway communities while visiting the park. These expenditures supported a total of 3,990 jobs, $149 million in labor income, $247 million in value added and $397 million in economic output in local gateway economies surrounding Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
