A Phoenix man with deep roots in Kingman and northwest Arizona is a contender for the position of Mohave County Manager. Sam Elters is one of four applicants for the job being interviewed by a screening panel.   Elters was a Mohave County public works employee long ago when was hired by the Arizona Department of Transportation. ADOT seeks input on future US 93 / Interstate 40 interchange project in Kingman

Several ways to view documents and provide comments through June 6, 2020 The Arizona Department of Transportation is encouraging the public to participate in a virtual, call-in public hearing on Thursday, May 28, to comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and preliminary design concept documents for the US 93 / I-40 west Kingman traffic interchange (TI) project. The ADOT project team has been working on the EA and preliminary design of the interchange that will create a free flow of traffic between the two highways. Ashley’s Home Store moving into old Kmart building

KINGMAN – They’re moving furniture into the building that housed the Kingman Kmart store for years. The Ashley Homestore Outlet is the first tenant in the building that has been renovated while vacant.Crews are loading inventory into a showroom that totals in excess of 24,000 square feet. “I think it’s a really good space,” said store manager Tony Nunez.Nunez said a soft opening will occur before June and that the store will be fully operational before July, with some timetable uncertainty associated with the ongoing pandemic. Board of Supervisors calls for opening county May 11

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a motion Thursday afternoon, May 7, recommending the county open up according to CDC guidelines on Monday, May 11.  This excludes three separate authorities within the county – the libraries, the courts, and the offices of elected officials, but, it was recommended that all county entities follow through on the same date.
