City Council meetings continue virtually with June 2 meetings “audience free”

The City of Kingman is taking the necessary steps to continue to protect City Council members, its residents, and city team members to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community. The Parks, Aquatics, Recreation and Golf (PARG) Commission will meet virtually this Wednesday, May 20, and the Planning and Zoning Commission is meeting in June, as well. As many cities around Arizona have proven successful, the City of Kingman is conducting the June 2, formal City Council meetings virtually. Four interviewed for county manager position; six more may also interview

– There are as many as a half dozen mystery candidates for the Mohave County Manager position. During Monday’s special Board meeting, supervisors indicated they want to interview as many as six more candidates beyond the three recommended by a screening panel. The four-member committee interviewed its four top contenders last week after reviewing at least 46 applications. The panel suggested that the Board of Supervisors interview three of those four. The panel gives its highest ranking and recommendation to Sam Elters (1A) of Phoenix, followed by Paul Van Haute (1B), Eatonton Georgia and David Williams (3), Prescott Valley. The…

County jail RN recognized for outstanding work

KINGMAN – A nurse who works at the Mohave County Adult and Juvenile Detention Centers has been chosen as the region’s team member of the quarter. Staci Philips RN, Director of Nursing at the detention centers said that LPN Tabitha Howell was selected for the honor based on her performance in relation to Wellpath’s core values. Wellpath is the contracted party which provides inmate health care in Kingman at both the Adult and Juvenile Detention Centers. Philips said Howell is recognized for her quality patient care, dedication and motivation. She said Howell has outstanding communication skills, a positive outlook and enjoys respect…
